The Gettysburg National Cemetery was dedicated on November 19, 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address. Many Union and Confederate soldiers were buried here and is opened for burials today. Every year on November 19, the town of Gettysburg remembers the historic Gettysburg Address given by president Lincoln by holding a memorial to remember the men that died during the battle of Gettysburg.
